I was SO appreciative of her validating feedback, that I would like to quote her here.
"So powerful!! Such a chillingly honest and lyrically genius reflection of the ego's power to seek validation in physical appearance.
This is especially important for women to acknowledge: the role of perceived physical beauty in determining self worth and value in our appearance-driven culture.
We are each so much more than the mirror reflects, and your poem brings to life a dimension that often gets overlooked as women seek to enhance and conceal physical imperfections while neglecting our core being."

My poem, Mirror Mirror is one of the more introspective works in my book.
It was inspired by a conversation I had with a young friend, who was having issues about being bullied in public for her appearance.
Upon reflection of her feelings, and my own experiences when I was younger, and more vulnerable, I felt it was an important concept to explore in poetry form.
My book also has audio files, which enable the reader to listen to my own renditions, as well as to read for themselves.
I hope that if you read this, you might be inspired to check out my book, The Moon of Compassion , on iTunes.
it is priced at $4.99 to fit most budgets.
